In cooperation with the Serviço Regional de Estatística dos Açores (SREA), the Association for Science and Development of the Azores (ACDA) and the Centre of Applied Economics Studies of the Atlantic (CEEAplA) is organizing a four hours and a half Seminar on Spatial Econometrics in Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira, Azores.
The Seminar aims provide the experts of the regional administration and researchers interested in spatial econometric methods to update their knowledge and perceive the capacity of advanced spatial econometric methods. Led by Prof. Dr. Patricio Aroca, an expert with over twenty-five years of experience working with Spatial Econometrics, the course will cover the following topics: Econometrics, Spatial Econometrics, application of spatial econometrics tools to databases of the Azores (Employment, Fisheries, Tourism, etc.). The working language of the Seminar is English and Spanish. Required own Laptop Computer. |

Patricio Aroca is a tenured professor at the Business School of the Adolfo Ibáñez University, Responsible Researcher of the Millennium Scientific Initiative Nucleus of the Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism: "Regional Science and Public Policies" and Research Professor affiliated with the Regional Economics Laboratory Applied (REAL) from the University of Illinois, United States. He is a commercial engineer from the Austral University of Chile, a Master in Economics from the University of Chile and a PhD in Economics from the University of Illinois. His doctoral specialization was in Regional Economics, Econometrics and Economics of Natural Resources. He has recently published on input-output analysis, spatial econometrics, regional growth, and interregional labour migration.
